Easy Carrot Muffins for adventurous toddlers. This is an easy recipe that you can make with the help of your little one for a perfect lunch box snack or dessert.

Ideal for toddlers 1yo+


  • 2 cups wholemeal plain flour

  • 1/2 cup coconut sugar

  • 2 tsp baking powder

  • 1/4 tsp bicarbonate soda

  • 1 cup plant-based milk, of choice

  • 1 large carrot, grated

  • 1/2 medium banana, mashed

  • 1/4 cup oil, of choice

  • 1 tablespoon cinnamon

  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg


  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  • Add the flour, sugar, baking powder and bicarbonate soda to a medium-size mixing bowl. Mix until there are no lumps.

  • Add the milk, grated carrot, mashed banana, oil and spices to the bowl. Mix until well combined.

  • Spoon the batter into mini muffin cases or tins.

  • Bake in the oven for 15 minutes or until a skewer can be inserted into a muffin and it comes out clean.

  • Allow the muffins to cool. Top with yoghurt if desired.
